From the early Pharaonic period to the present day, the people of Qena have relied on the land to grow a wide variety of crops. The city boasts a wealth of ancient temples and monuments, such as the stunning Temple of Hathor and the magnificent Temple of Dendera, which date back to the Ptolemaic and Roman periods.
